October 28-November 14
Upon completion of our psychologist's office game, we have started a new phase in performance arts. We are taking part in a drumming workshop. Our first workshop focused on basic timing exercises and being the conductor of the group of drummers.
October 7-24
We practiced our sharing ideas skill by playing the game called the psychologist's office. Our doctors were very perceptive and were able to figure out their patients identity and problem. Advice was offered for patients afraid of driving, afraid of bugs crawling on them, and a patient who thought he was a vampire and was afraid of the sun.
September 29-October 6
We spent some time creating characters for improvisational scenes and completed a scene in a fire house. We also modeled our behaviors after our own character creations. We started discussing how our emotions can be shown in the SCORE skills, and will start to use the first skill, sharing ideas, in a game called the psychologist's office.
September 15-26
We completed our masks and have been practicing embodying that emotion. We have been bored, in love, sad, afraid, angry, peaceful, thoughtful, happy, confused, and greedy. We have practiced our own emotions as well as the emotions of our masks. We will be using these masks in improv situations and as points of discussion for our upcoming review of the SCORE skills cooperative learning strategy.
September 3-12
We dove into the hat of emotions with Mrs. Brown and Ms. DeSimone. We each picked our emotion and are in the process creating a mask that displays this emotion. This will help us with our physical portrayals of emotions that we will engage in over the next few weeks as we review the SCORE skills cooperative learning strategy.
